Hello John. I saw your comment just now and unfortunatley I cannot help you. I have not come across much taphonomy litterature that might contain the answer to your question, since my research has been more focused on forensic archaeology (bones, rather than tissue). I've asked a friend so I can get back to you if she knows anyting!
